Homemade Spray Starch

To me, there is nothing more luxurious than sleeping on ironed and starched pillowcases. I’d love ironed sheets too, but lack the household staff to make this wish a regular possibility. What I do not love is buying more plastic bottles than necessary, and recently discovered that I can easily make my own starch at home. It’s actually even better than store-bought because I can scent it with whatever I like (lavender and rose are my preferred scents for laundry). I keep my starch at the ready in the laundry room in a stainless steel sprayer bottle, and even had a label made for it from my favorite label-maker on Etsy.

Homemade Spray Starch

  • 1 Tablespoon corn starch

  • 2 Cups distilled or reverse osmosis water

  • 1-2 Drops essential oil (I like lavender or rose)

Combine all the ingredients and pour into a spray bottle. Shake before each use.
