I make a point of changing our sheets weekly, but during the week, I use this homemade linen spray to smooth out wrinkles and freshen things up. I also use this spray on any upholstered items between cleanings (if you have any animals in your house on purpose, I highly recommend owning an upholstery/carpet cleaner). I love lavender anything, but you could sub in your favorite essential oil. Another plus for lavender is that it has antimicrobial properties, in addition to smelling so serene. Here’s how to make your own linen spray.
Ingredients
Glass or metal spray bottle
2 ounce witch hazel
6 ounces distilled water
15 drops lavender essential oil
In a measuring cup, add witch hazel, then distilled water and pour into your spray bottle. Add the drops directly into the bottle, then seal and agitate gently to mix. Distilled water helps to prevent residue from minerals normally found in tap water, and witch hazel helps to speed up the evaporation of the spray. Don’t forget a pretty label!
