Craft Room

I love having a single space to corral my craft supplies, and while it’s never actually this tidy, it doesn’t matter because it’s contained. This little basement room gets wonderful natural light and is the home to gift wrapping, sewing, calligraphy, creating, and more because it’s just such a happy place to be. Even if you don’t have a whole room to devote to crafts, or gift wrap, etc, it’s a great idea to use an over-the-door organizer, or a storage ottoman like my sister has in her studio apartment, to store everything you like to use in one place. I think it’s easier to be creative when you don’t have to wonder why your paintbrushes aren’t with your watercolors. And bonus points if you can incorporate a literally “old school” Boston pencil sharpener somewhere.
This large work surface is great, if I can keep it from being a dumping zone for miscellany. Sidebar: my name banner is sentimental since I had it hanging over my bed throughout college, so I’m glad I found a second home for it

A little desk with task lighting for calligraphy

A great solution for small spaces, or for squeezing out storage from every square foot of your space
Favorite feature: always-sharp pencils
I can see all of my stamps displayed on floating shelves, and use this chopping block paper cutter at least once a week; shelves below house my Cricut and sewing machine
Lots of colorful boxes saved from my Birchbox subscription each hold a different craft supply like “googly eyes” or “pom poms”; and there is no such thing as too much gift wrap
